ATP Hunger Games Simulator

With relatively little tournaments going on now post-wimbledon, i've decided that the next best thing is to watch the atp top 25 (minus rat) fight to the death in the hunger games. Since that's also not an option, i'm left just simulating what would happen if they were in the hunger games. So without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, meet the cast:

And it's lights out and away we go!

Day 1

And already, there are casualties. Local american idiots Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz team up to fight brit Jack Draper and honorary brit Alex de Minaur. Unfortunately, Ben and Taylor don't make it. Rip american idiots. You found each other in every universe.

As the day goes on, we don't see any more casualties. However, faa is pricked by thorns, which is about the most action so far. Oh and Hubi sparing Lorenzo's life like the gentleman he is. Daniil with explosives, a great combination i'm sure. As night falls, 2 cannon shots can be heard in the distance. Rip Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz.

Night 1

Some very interesting groups. Not sure why Lorenzo would want to hang out with the guy who just defeated him in a fight, but it's his decision. No more deaths yet. Sebastian Baez is a mood.

Day 2

Novak Djokovic with a spear is something that everyone should be afraid of. But having said that, it is Jack Draper who kills Felix Auger Aliassime, who evidently has not recovered from his earlier thorn prick. Jack - 3, everyone else - 0. A cannon can be heard in the distance. Felix Auger Aliassime, taken from us too soon.

Night 2

Everyone prefers night matches apparently, because all the action is happening at night! Both Chileans fall at the hands of the ruthless Sebastian Korda and the merciless Andrey Rublev respectively. Rip Chile, you had to put clothes on eventually. Alex de Minaur has opted to keep Lorenzo Musetti alive. This is the 2nd time someone could have killed Lore but his puppy dog eyes must have won them over. Will this come back to bite him in the arse? Honestly, i wouldn't need much convincing to snuggle up with Alexander Bublik.

Day 3

Hubi the gentle giant not so gentle, forcing Bublik to kill Karen. If i was Sebastian Korda, i too would question my sanity. I wouldn't even have to be in the hunger games. Alex keeps letting people live, which is nice of him, but what other chance are you gonna get to eliminate the threat that is Novak? Biggest news though, the number 1 seed is out! Yes, Jannik Sinner has been killed at the hands of Sebastian Baez. 4 cannon shots can be heard for the Chileans, Karen and Jannik.

Night 3

Not much to say here, except that Tommy Paul might have an infection, Stefanos is thirdwheeling ruru, and Jack shows mercy for once. Also, i've heard Novak sing in that backhand boys video, and he didn't have the worst vocals.

Day 4

A lot of sanities being questioned. Tommy Paul tried to be too clever and it has backfired on him. Sebastian Korda is the last North American standing. In a repeat of the Dubai semi finals this year, Ugo Humbert has taken down Daniil Medvedev. Is the arena filled with clay? Sebastian Baez seems to be enjoying himself though. And glad to see Andrey try to fix his sleep schedule. 2 cannon shots for Tommy and Daniil.

Night 4

Another night, another Tsitsipas rizz masterclass. First cuddling with Sascha, now holding hands with Jack. In revenge of the Acapulco final, Casper kills Alex. Between this and Daniil, mouse man nation has truly crumbled.

Day 5

It seems like his age is finally catching up with Novak, whose ankle gives out after a chase by the fitter Andrey. After scaring him in Day 4, Holger doesn't finish the job and spares Korda. Maybe he felt bad for the jumpscare? But in a huge twist of events, evidently Bublik hasn't gotten over Hubi forcing him to kill Karen, so he enlists the help of Carlos to get revenge. Poor baby Casper is pricked by thorns. I wonder how he'll fare?

Everyone has failed their mandatory drug test and begins to hallucinate. Sebastian Korda wins the Sebastian Derby, and there goes Latin America's last hope. Both Carlos and Novak die hugging tracker jacker nests. Maybe it's a grand slam winner thing? Also Lorenzo and Holger attempt to run away to wonderland together, but their doomed love story ends there. At least they died together. I know the French eat snails but apparently they also eat scorpions too. And this one is a doozy. A whopping 8 cannon shots can be heard for Alex de Minaur, Hubi Hurkacz, Sebastian Baez, Carlos Alcaraz, Lorenzo Musetti, Holger Rune, Novak Djokovic and Ugo Humbert. At this point, i'm beginning to get scared that Sebastian Korda might actually win this thing.

Night 5

Korda continues his reign of terror, taking out Bublik. Grigor dares to dream, something that he hasn't done in a long time. Probably.

And it's time for the feast!

Oh my! Andrey Rublev has always been a wanted man, but now it seems like he's wanted more than ever, and not in a good way. Grigor doesn't go to the feast. At least he didn't see his lover die.

Day 6

Grigor goes and takes revenge for Andrey's murder, but ultimately decides against going through with it. 2 cannon shots can be heard. Rip Alexander Bublik and Andrey Rublev.

Night 6

Poor Grigor, still haunted by his dead lover. And here's another weird statistic for the atp, tree related deaths - 2. You heard that right ladies and gentlemen. Two people have died from tree related incidents: Jack from falling out of a tree and Sebastian Korda from being stabbed by a tree branch. Ouch. At least his reign of terror is now over.

So, who is still alive?

After flopping on the atp tour for these past months, Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Grigor Dimitrov suddenly find themselves with a chance at victory. Will it be the iceman Casper Ruud who will find himself winning a title bigger than a 250? Will the balding, bisexual, Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov win his 2nd title since 2017? Or will Stefanos "daddy issues" Tsitsipas prove that he can win without on-court coaching? Stay tuned to find out.

Day 7

Casper goes back to his Scandi roots and builds a shack worthy of rivaling ikea furniture. 1hbh off and Grigor runs away, knowing he can't shank the ball as well as Stefanos can. 2 shots can be heard for Jack Draper and Sebastian Korda.

Night 7

Stefanos wasn't invited to the cuddle party. The shock of that was too much for him and he passed out. Not fatally though.

Day 8

Stefanos, in awe of Grigor's backhand and slice, knows he cannot compete with him, begs to be killed. Grigor keeps him alive anyway.

Night 8

If this were another genre, it'd be the start of a smutty threesome. But it's the hunger games, so two of these men are gonna be dead come tomorrow.

Day 9

And what's this? Grigor Dimitrov has died from thirst. What a way to go though. And Casper Ruud from district 4, killing off his title contender for king of flopping, has won the hunger games! Congrats king, i hope you win a real title soon.

UMMM I'll hold ur hand when I say this but Qatar definitely wasn't an outlier, prolly the most egregious showing since the sprint in Brazil, but F1 always has like 4 races in every season where u kinda wonder if ur watching a sport 😐 This gonna get long but theres some important context I think ur asking for here also I kinda lose it at the end I'm sorry but yuh.

Saur after Vegas everybody was like omfg daddy Marques is here to save us, he addressed some basic track issues and nobody got fucking paralyzed by a pothole exploding thru their ass hurray, so there was hope that maybe Marques was off to a better start than his predecessors and wud maybe give the fans a better ending to the season. But putting Qatar after Vegas is like quizzing somebody on shapes and then asking them to solve a rubriks cube or whtvr.

Qatar was originally built for motogp so the whole thing is designed to be quick and relentless. That means lots of medium to high speed corners, long straights basically 2 hours of edging ur braking. Most drivers consider it a cool track, very demanding sure but fun to drive. For us fans, though, its an odd 1 because theres no reference points so it can be hard to follow. Think of it as the opposite of tracks like Miami or Monaco. RC did a particularly heinous job here because Qatar was Marques' first taste of a track where u either plug the first leak in record time or the whole thing goes to shit. Like, his job.

A lil lesser known fact is that they had Marques on double duty that weekend because the person who replaced him to direct the F2 heat got the boot before her plane even landed and they had NO one else to do it. So Marques had to direct both the f1 AND the f2 Qatar races the same weekend. And thats not all. Just before his inaugural run in Vegas he had just been at the helm of the iconic Macau GP that saw 12 red flags in 40 minutes of qualifying. I wont even tell u how many SC were deployed but only 12 out of 27 drivers finished the race. Ugo my most beloved won so this has nothing to do wid Qatar and Macau and the way its used by the FIA in terms of junior development is a can of worms I cant open rn but like just to show u thats the type of shit Marques had been dealing wid on a weekly basis once we got to Qatar. So truly bro never stood a chance.

When Alexs mirror fell on track the only possible course of action is to get it OFF. Idc if u wanna do VSC or a full SC u need to clear that track NOWWWWW. 3 cars caught strays from that mf before a SC was even deployed. To fuck up that badly that early in the race just showed exhaustion, it showed immaturity and frankly it showed incompetence. Its unacceptable. Wud a different RD have reacted earlier? who tf knows tbh, because these 'mistakes' always happen and they're always dismissed as 'one of those crazy ones' in the season and nothing ever gets done to improve the standards of the personnel ((theres no personnel left btw)).

Then u got the long awaited return of the stop and go and drive thru pens which was super forced and made no sense and immediately showed why those bitches been sat in a corner catching dust because theres literally always better alternatives and they almost never serve actual officiating purposes. 'Precedence' means fuck all if u also have the 'precedence' of not fucking doing that and being way more consistent and delivering better racing. But ohhhh he had to stop in the pits and THEN he had to go back out ohhh he had to go thru an area of the track thats not the right one and lose a bunch of time and become essentially worthless in the race we love when competitive cars do that. Sorry this isnt directed at u I just have a very particular beef wid fans who act like drive thrus and stop and go's are these celestial artifacts that are gonna restore balance in the universe like the harder u throw the book at these drivers the better the product will become. I cud live 200 lives and not have enough time to explain how thats the actual furthest thing from the truth but ur innocent and ily so lets regroup. ❤️ My actual conclusion to ur q is that this is how things have always been and no they're not likely to improve. Unfortunately I gotta borrow even more of ur time to show ur how truly bleak it cud get real soon.

FIA been circulating a bunch of changes to their rules that are prolly gonna be approved at their general assembly in about 10 days. These 'new statutes' include 1) changing the governing bodys ethics rules so that Sulayem can in fact talk to drivers however the fuck he wants and THEY will be held in contempt for criticizing him 2) the 'compliance officer' responsible for overseeing Sulayems spending cannot report to an independent committee and propose an investigation unless directly asked by the Senate President who .. and ur not gonna believe this .. is appointed directly by Sulayem. 3) yes u understood it correctly FIA will prolly become a system where the FIA president and the president of the senate that he chose decide each other's fate in any ethics inquiry.

Sulayem is up for re-election and its becoming more and more likely that hes gonna run unopposed. A sporting director, a technical director, multiple heads of mobility, communications, legal affairs, the women in motorsport commission, several race directors, stewards, a compliance officer, deputy directors. All fired under his watch. Dozens of others quit.

Stewarding has become so abysmal Max received a one place grid drop AND a penalty point as a mitigating punishment for something he literally didnt do under circumstances that didnt warrant any type of punishment let alone a mitigating one like the document literally says that 'unusually, neither car was on a push lap' because if they had been on a push lap max wud have received a 3 place grid drop but 1 and 63 were not on push laps so naturally we have to give Max a one place grid drop and a penalty point for not doing the thing that he would've been punished for had he done it. Some thoughts on the first 2 rounds of AO, behind spoilers cause it got too long

Upsets ATP:

- Tsitsipas... well does that actually count as an upset? Nothing to say here

- Fonseca d. Rublev... again not actually that big of an upset imo, more a confirmation for Fonseca (also out of the top 10, Rublev was probably the most vulnerable to Fonseca's game)

- Mensik d. Ruud, now that's an upset i didnt see coming, Casper's been playing well at UC, thought he'd reach 4th round at least here (also absolutely legendary behaviour from Casper here, lost 2nd round, goes up to 5 in the ranking, poster child for work smarter not harder)

- Tien d. Medvedev, well Damn! But honestly good for Tien he really deserved it, match point in the 3rd, can't convert, gets bagelled in the 4th, down a break at the worst time in the 5th, saves multiples match points, the absolute cinema of it all, the mental fortitude to survive all this at 19, insane, most impressive performance so far

Upsets WTA

- Siegemund d. Zheng, really didnt see that one coming, what an upset, didnt see the match so not much to say, i hope it's not injury related

Potential upsets in the next few rounds:

- Muchova T_T i mean im happy for Naomi but T___T

- Fritz : he's been playing really well but he has Monfils next and (if Gael isnt too tired) he's probably exactly the type of player that can upset Taylor, great mobility, amazing defense, good returner. If he passes i expect he makes it to quarter and semi relatively easy (potential warning if Moutet gets to quarter, Taylor will hate all those dropshots, potentially a hilarious match though)

- Djokovic: truly think Machac has what it takes to upset him (baring cramps)

- Z* : Fearnley's been on an absolute tear for the last couple of months, granted mostly at challenger level but still, not an easy match, i pray he wins, lets do it for the girlies

- WTA seeds have been really solid except Zheng, i dont really see a big upset coming but anything is possible (idk if Naomi can beat Coco, but I think she's the most likely to pull off an upset)

Other random thoughts:

- Carlos is a man on a mission, though the match against Borges will be the first real test

- I think Moutet makes it to semi final lol, wild bet but considering who's left on his quarter its possible (watch him lose next round to a gassed out Tien lol)

- if Jack isnt too gassed from his two 5setters i think he can give Carlos a run for his money (i had him all the way in the final originally but with how his first 2 matchs went not so sure anymore)

- lots of possibility for Z* to be eliminated, if he passes Fearnley, then Fils has the best shot at beating him between him and Humbert but no guarantee Arthur beats Ugo... though Mensik could also make it all the way to semis imo

- wont say anything about Jannik cause Im scared of jinxing him smh 🙏

- i think the top seeds on wta will go as far as expected (excepts maybe collins/navarro), unsure how the Jasmine - Elena match might go, and Naomi has a shot at upsetting the first half of the draw (might be manifesting a little but she took out Karo so I need her to go all the way now)

Two year Skip Season 2!

Season 2  starts: Old Faces and New Friends!!

Hi Everyone

Ok this is going to be like season 2 of the campaign, so during the 2 year skip both girls went separated ways to train and gather more reputation and money. Wittr and Olhava went cross country and set up churches for Torm and even got to meet the king of Giantra. She got some major rep points and got some of the golden guard in her corner. She also gains some followers for her church that she is setting up in Havenport.

Sage stays in Havenport setting up Frog’s Bane Detective Agency. She also use her time to learn some new languages (she learn Goblin and one other language), she also wrote some mysteries books and some other books as well (under pen names).

This session is super special. We got a new player to join us, a close friend with a DM and us now she is really cool but much like us new to playing D&D. Wittr and I were super excited that we have a new player to join our team.

Her character’s name is Velsha. She is a pink water Genasi, with a criminal background, during our fights we all love how instead of using swords and daggers she uses a crowbar, and it does more damage with improvise weapons. Her pet that she had trained on a haunted ship is a zombie gnome named Cucumber. (Yes, she fits in perfectly in this campaign)

Campaign starts:

In the early hours of Havenport, everything seemed to be quiet and serene. Wittr and Olhava were at the church of Torm that Wittr had finished setting up and Sage was at the apartment that they shared. A scream rang through the town Sage and Owain headed out their front door to see webbing everywhere, confirming that their neighbors were alright the detective duo headed out with the idea of heading to Mayor Gracefield house to see if she knew what was going on.

Wittr and Olhava and Wittr’s disciple Kain also headed to town towards Mayor Gracefield’s house, Wittr told Kain to rally the Golden Guard and regroup with the city guard while she went to the Mayor’s house.

Back with Sage, Sage was rushing towards the house when she heard more screams off in another directions, she came to house where a large blue spider was. The spider looked at Sage and made a connection the spider wanted blood.

Sage also came across a pink genasi with a zombie gnome, Sage called out to her ask if she was ok and if she can fight.

We finish fighting the spider and Sage asked her she can help with the mayor.

So, Sage went bear mode and started back on track to the mayor’s house when Velsha and Sage came across the golden guard and Kain.

Kain explains that Wittr is at the Mayor’s house, so bear-Sage nabs Kain and races off to the Mayor’s house. Where we see Wittr in a stand off with a warrior deck out in spider armor and a huge spider woman.

The spider woman looks at Sage “Oh good Sage is here now my revenge can start”.

Turns out the spider lady is Loth and she is pissed at Sage and Wittr for killing her kin in the forest in Windcrest. Also the warrior is the surving ugo (oni-kin) that didn’t die in the Ironhold explosion. He had summoned Loth to get revenge on Wittr and Sage.

Velsha also knows the Ugo since she was sent on a mission to get a petal for them (I think, the DM was trying to get Velsha’s player up to speed on how to play D&D, and also to get Velsha to a level around Sage and Wittr). That petal turns out was a component to summon Loth.

(I’ll speed up the fight a bit)

Wittr is dealing with Ugo and Sage was offering support and taking out minor Spiders but keeping an eye on Loth. Velsha was slinging her water spells and making use of her deadly crow bar.

Cucumber took bites out of spiders and then went off into a alley and Owain followed them to help them.

After some close scrapes (Wittr almost went down that’s how close we were) when Valen (the assistant of the mayor) comes out he calls for Sage or Wittr that he needs help getting the Mayor.  

Sage makes her way to the house dodging attacks. She finds Valen and the Mayor she was under on rubble not moving Valen pleaded to Sage to help him but she was not able too (I use my Poltergeist grimoire to help raise the rubble but I rolled too low)

Valen knew it was a lost cause he gave a item (a fedora that lets her use pass without a trace) and tells her to stop Loth. Valen told Sage that had set something in the house, it could be use as a weakness.

Sage, after some fancy moves to get up to the upper levels of the house found a spider sack, so she starts attacking it.

While Velsha, Wittr, Olhava Kain and the Golden Guard was dealing with Loth. The battle was epic and it looked like the group was winning, only Loth sense what Sage was doing to the sack and went into the house to deal with her.

Sage and Loth fought, and Loth was winning (Sage is not stack like Wittr, she is a squishy rouge) but the group defeats Loth sends her back to her domain.

The house starts to collapse into a sink hole and the girls rush out. The house falls into the sink who and Valen pops out (he use a minor teleport spell).

The fight has been won. But the recovery will be hard.

Player’s thoughts:

I loved that we got a new player, and she fits right in with wacky antics of the group. I did like that we finally dealt with the last of the oni-kin. Because our DM did tells us during the 2 year skip that Wittr had heard that a Oni-kin was last seen near the Heart of Gaintra (which is a Mt range that is the center point of the continent.)

Durning the Fight each of us players got a new item Wittr got a really cool hammer that was a gift from her god, Velsha got a bag of tricks and I got a feadora which allows me to use the spell  past without a trace.

Mega Man Boss Rush Simulator

The Mega Man Arcade games are interesting in that they aren't fighting games. They're just Mega Man games with no levels. They are essentially the last part of every Mega Man game where you have to fight all the Robot Masters and then a few bosses afterwards in one sequence. They're similar to the end of Mega Man: Dr Wily’s Revenge, in that these aren't re-fights, you're just using boss weaknesses immediately after getting them.

There's a clear value in these games. They have multiple short campaigns, so instead of the usual 8 Robot Masters you battle per game, you get 18. Because the game is only boss fights, the move set for the robot masters are far more varied and involved. These games also translate NES Robot Masters into the Mega Man 7 art style which is much appreciated. Instead of just playing as Mega Man you have the option of fighting as him, Proto Man or Bass, each who have slightly differing play styles. The sequel added Duo to the mix, who feels the most like a new character as he doesn't have as much range as the others, but more power. Duo is a nice addition, though I still ended up liking the first game more due to the art. The sprites in the sequel are smaller in order to give the player more space to move around in, but the sprite art ends up being less detailed and off model as a result. There are some real ugos in this line up. Luckily they end up attacking off screen for half of the fight most of the time, so you don’t have to deal with how bad they look. Both games are a fun time despite their flaws though. They aren't too difficult to complete and I could probably get through on 1 credit if I played one of the campaigns again. Which works out because it's not about beating the game, it's about getting the best score. It's not Metal Slug, you aren't gonna be sinking money into this machine unless you genuinely want to get good at it.

But...why aren't they fighting games? These games are called Mega Man the Power Battle and the Power Fighters. These are fighting game titles. And a Mega Man fighting game would be fucking sick as hell. A Mega Man fighting game where you play as 18 robot masters and 3-4 of the protagonists is instant obsession fuel. I would play this game and suck ass at it for so long. So the fact that this is a boss rush sim is disappointing. Even if it was a bad fighting game I’d tap into it. Seriously, every mascot franchise needs a fighting game and not having one is honestly stupid. Sonic the Hedgehog has two, neither of them are all that great, but I'm glad they exist. Super Smash Bros is not enough, Marvel vs Capcom is not enough. We need a Mega Man fighting game.

putting everything under a cut because there's a LOT and most of it is just scrambled facts but trust mE i know exactly what I want to happene

So essentially before the Magi declare the like final decision for king all of the candidates are summoned to the physical manifestation of the sacred palace which pops up deep in the desert and it's basically seen as Mecca, but at this point everyone thinks Sinbad is dead, at least until someone in a cloak walks into the place where Sinbad's supposed to be and the tile lights up. Obv people are confused hence Sin has to make his grand entrance by throwing off the cloak and basically being like "I LIVE, BITCH"

The problem is he doesn't look entirely like himself, he's shorter most noticeably... and his chest is bigger. What happened was that yes Sinbad did die, however his ryukh got transferred into another vessel because the summoner had heard whispers of his voice and had him take over her body Mo Xuanyu style

And then my whole trial thing happens with him where his fate is decided because of all the shit he tries to pull, Alibaba doesn't kill him, just turn him into a djinn and his household members as part of his dungeon, for when Alibaba dies, the new king will need to capture that dungeon to gain him as a vessel

A large chunk is going to be Morgiana and the Fanalis going to Ka'taarg and finding out she's the lost Princess of it and with this comes new abilities for her, still trying to figure out the logistics of it bUT the general idea is that she'll have pheonix wings that melt into a back tattoo when not using them and she's in equal strength to Alibaba full Ugo djinn equipped

Alibaba + Kougs + Muu + Aladdin actually go over to Kina in order to ask for assistance in the final battle with the cosmic entity that's threatening to like eat the planet but Takeruhiko actually refuses, saying he would rather focus on keeping his country safe than participating in some wildish task to kill some entity that the Magi had no actual proof was coming, he also believed that Alibaba wouldn't make a good leader because of his age

This offends Muu more than it offends Alibaba because how DARE Takeruhiko say that the Magi are wrong and what if Take's participation is the difference between winning or losing. It gets wayyy to heated and they have to Solomon's wisdom their way out of it

Who are your top ten favorite black clover characters and ships (platonic or romantic), talk about them!

Thanks for the question! This might be a bit long so I'll probably talk about them another time but here ya go.

For my top ten favorite characters in no order are Fuegoleon, Yami and Vanessa all tied for my number one favorite spot,

Julius (honestly he's such a good and interesting character, but when I first started watching Black clover I knewww he reminded me of someone and sounded familiar. I realized he shares the same voice actor as Minato Namikaze so that just made it better because to me they're really similar. Toshiyuki Morikawa, their voice actor also voices: Kimimaro (Naruto) ,August Ruthven (Vanitas no Carte), Kagaya Ubuyashikis from (Kimetsu no Yaiba), Carla Tsukinami (Diabolik Lovers), Dante (Devil May Cry), Ugo (Magi).

Mereoleona, Gaja, Asta, Zora, Mimosa, Secre, Lumiere, Finral, Loropechika and Charmy.

(I know this is more than ten so you can call some of them honorable mentions I guess)

Siblings:

Vermilions (they're my favorite family members, literally love them so much, each of their dynamics, the tough love and gentle love they have for one another. Especially that fight with Fuegoleon and Mereoleona against the elves, and the way they just have so much respect for each other I-)

Would love to see them have more interaction with Mimosa. Imagine Mereoleona training Mimosa or Fuegoleon and then Leopold and Mimosa just being teenagers having fun on an adventure.

Would love to see more of Rebecca and her siblings.

Asta and Yuno and their siblings from the church. They're such good brothers and too adorable.

Gauche's love for Marie is kind of endearing thought it's extreme.

Fuegoleon and Nozel (literally love this rivalry and friendship so much. Did y'all see Nozel when Fuegoleon was hurt? This man was ready to throw hands with no warnings. They reminded me of Kakashi and Guy's rivalry even though the characters are so different)

Noelle and Vanessa ( the positive and supportive bond they have just is so wholesome.)

Would love to see Vanessa and Zora and Fuegoleon. Any two combination of them. I feel like Zora would begrudgingly be like 'Mmm he's alright', when he gets to personally interact with and gains respect for Fuegoleon who's a royal.

Or imagine Zora and Gaja being quiet friends that don't need to talk but understand each other. Or Gaja acting like an older brother figure to him and sighing while pinching the bridge of his nose after watching Zora prank someone.

Non Magicians in Magnostadt : an analysis over the possibilities of an analogy.

I love Magi, it's probably my favorite piece of fiction of all times. But most importantly, I love analysing stuff. And for a while, I wondered what are the non Magicians of the Magnostadt kingdom supposed to represent ? And after thinking about it for a while, I think I finally got an answer so ... Strap in !!(Please do be aware that this text will talk in depth about discrimination, if this subject is triggering to you I'd advise you to stop here !)

For obvious reasons, the first thought I had was that the non Magicians were supposed to represent Jews. Magi is heavily based on both Judaism and Islamic ideas and having almost a whole population being put in a specific district can be easily linked to a real event event. But thinking about it, something felt heavily wrong. The people that were discriminated against clearly weren't supposed to be Jewish. No, everything pointed to the magicians being the ones that were Jewish instead. I'm not an expert when it comes to Jewish tradition and beliefs, but I did my research. Non Magicians are often called Goi by Mogamett. Goi is a Jewish term that is used to describe non Jewish people. And when you dug a little deeper, you can also see that Jewish people are supposed to be people closer to their god, like magicians would be since they are directly linked to the world's magic sources. I could also argue that Mogamett's does ressemble cliché representations of Jewish people, especially with the nose. Does that mean that the Jewish were represented as the oppressor and the other people as the oppressed ? I don't know. I wouldn't be able to decide if that's the case at all, especially since in other languages, Goi has been Translated to Kaffir, which is meant to describe the people who aren't Muslims. It's overall very confusing. But still, what I could see is that the people who were oppressed weren't meant to represent Jewish people. Obviously, I quickly took a look at the biggest oppressed groups there are in the world. So I thought about Sexism, Racism and LGBTphobia. Sexism didn't seem to be it at all. Women are shown to have high positions in Magnostadt's society. We see it with Myers who is a highly respected teacher or obviously Yamuraiha that is treated as one of the best Magicians ever. So it couldn't be it. Racism seemed ... Off. One of the points of Aladdin's fear of discrimination is that these people are all of the same when it comes to their appearance. It was the point of the new world that Ugo created, all creatures became the same race to avoid discrimination. And with all of that, we have Sphintus who's at the very least Arabic. As for homophobia I couldn't see a link at all. It's not like they weren't able to have children together, they did have kids. It's not that they were hated for something they love and that they could just hide it, they weren't able to do something and that's all. It couldn't be that either.   But then, it clicked. The main point of this discrimination was because people weren't abled to do something. They were disabled. It wasn't even a metaphor. They literally were disabled. And now, here comes the part with explanations and details to better understand this theory, coming with an introduction to the world disabled, because I do believe that it is interesting to have a clear difference with a disability and a handicap. A handicap means that you are facing a disadvantage due to a problem. For exemple, if you start a race with a 20 pounds chain on your  foot, you will be handicapped compared to others in the race. A disability means something you can't do. Therefore, depending on the context, someone that is handicapped can be or not be disabled. Let's say a part of a human population grows wings. If they keep evolving in our actual society they will be advantaged yes, but no one will be unable to do their normal tasks. However if the world starts to be built around these people with wings, creating places that only them can access by flying for exemple, everyone who doesn't have wings will be considered disabled. Because they're unable to do the same. Now with that exemple, replace wings with magic and you get exactly what Magnostadt's society is. It is exclusively built for people who are born magicians. Normal human beings cannot function in it properly. And what do you do when someone can't function properly ? You start discriminating them. Mogamett truly believed that the non magicians weren't as useful as other humans were, so he built a society for the to be put in a position of weakness. Some people can work on the surface, yes. But it's because they're rich or they have talent like artists or crafters. You can see disabled people working in an every day life, but most often people are surprised. As for the poor people ? Well they're put in their little spaces of life to rot. The people born in the 5th district pretty much never see the outside world and to be fair, disabled people don't either. They're meant to stay at home, because things aren't meant for us outside. From now on, I'm gonna talk about disability using my own experiences. It's probably gonna be a bit raw, but I think parallels will be easier to make. The thing that I thought the most about is the "you should be grateful" part. It's really interesting and is a very manipulative technique to make sure people are under your control. The people in the 5th district are given food and water and don't have to work. Most of them could probably work if they were given the opportunity to with the proper help to make the job accessible. But no, they're trapped in their place with no possibility to actually work for the society. They've been forced into this district because they were mistreated into poverty without the opportunity of getting out of it, and now that they're stuck in this situation, they're meant to be grateful. Because they're provided the food and sleep they need that they didn't have before when it's basic human rights. And the fact is, they've been in such an horrible situation before that they'd rather accept being treated like animals than being mistreated even more. And that's exactly what happens when handicapped people ask for financial help. We might get 1000$ a month if we're lucky, but it's still not enough. And people tell us that we're ungrateful because we want an actual liveable wage. We don't think that giving us absolutely nothing is a good either. We want to be treated as human beings. Yet we should still be oh so grateful because we're getting all of this without work. I could work if the world did a little effort. But it does. And it also comes back to the hymn beings statement. Because that's also a very interesting thing : they're not seen as human beings. Mogamett sees non magicians as animals. Different people as seen as different animals, for exemple Marga was a kitten to the man's eyes. But her being cute didn't mean he respected her. And it's not rare to see disabled people as less valuable. That was insanely obvious during the COVID-19 crisis. People kept talking about disabled people as a necessary sacrifice for other people's well being. Because to them, a human life is important. But a "lower" human life isn't as important as being able to get McDonald's. Non Magicians are more than likely to be killed if they are ill or can no longer provide enough magical ressources to the city. Since they were born into poverty and unable to get out of this place, they will most likely die at a rather young age or if they catch an illness. It's not their choice to die, the government literally kills them if they're not enough. There isn't much an equivalent in our modern society for the government killing people directly, however this method did remind me of some atrocious things that are currently done to disabled people in countries like Canada. When you're disabled, you have to pay for medication. A lot. And if you're poor, you're likely to go in dept very quickly. And for that, the government came with a solution : assisted suicide. You can either choose to die slowly and painfully, or the government can give you the medication to kill yourself. All of that because you can't pay your medication and therefore you're not useful enough to society anymore. Non Magicians in the 5th district aren't just seen as a source of magical income for the rest of society. They're seen as people you can utilise and milk of their energy until their death. And with all of these arguments, I believe that the whole Magnostadt arc's treatment of non Magicians was a direct reference of disabled people.

Sindria’s Prophet Ch1

I shut my laundry alarm, slipped on my flip-flops and headed to the basement to get the clothes from the drier.

My frustration lead my hands to my eyes while taking the steps down. I had been hyper-fixating on Sinbad's character arc again. Constantly vacillating between love and hate for this fictional character was driving me, and everyone who had to live with me, up a wall. I needed to get my Sinbad feelings under control before I ranted my best friend/sibling/roommate's ear off again. They would just remind me that you don't get to choose your hyper fixations. Or your comfort characters. Or who you're attracted to. As they've said before, "people are attracted to appearances and personalities. That's why it hurts so much when we find out someone is a bad person."

"Ah!" Vertigo pulled me out of my thoughts as I tried to take another step down after already hitting the bottom of the stairs. I groaned at my own lack of awareness.

The lighting was different. 'Did the power go out?'

The space around me was pitch black. I felt like I was being pulled. It was like feeling the current in a stream. I got walking.

A very dim light grew around me. All of the shelves of my basement were gone. Was I dreaming? I've been a lucid dreamer since I was 5 so it was possible -sure as hell felt similar. Given my mental state, it made sense that I couldn't control the dream like normal and only had awareness.

Hopefully, having to do laundry was part of the dream.

Worried voices came from a turn up ahead.

As soon as I made the turn I saw a bunch of people panicking around a child on the ground. More people came from behind them to see what was going on.

"He isn't breathing!"

I had first aid training back when I was a student and had experience using it into my time as a teacher. I was by the child's side in a flash, having squeezed past the useless people swarming around them.

Long blue hair in a braid, open blue vest, turban, and a golden flute. This was Aladdin from Magi, and I knew what was wrong with him.

I ripped the flute from his hands as Alibaba and Morgiana rushed over. Alibaba pulled Aladdin into his arms and pleaded for his friend to hold on before I could check his condition. At least I had removed the flute so he wouldn't die.

Maybe I *was* a little too obsessed with Magi to be reliving it in a dream, but this gave me an opportunity to do a thing I always want to in scenes like this -hell, I've had to do it with real people.

"Put him down! And stop shaking him!"

The two just stared at me.

I gestured to the ground. " He's weak so holding him like that could hurt him. Put him down."

The desperation on Alibaba's face was one I've seen before in series and on real people. I knew Aladdin would live and I had training, so I could face this calmly, but he didn't.

My words finally register and he put his friend back on the ground. I passed Ugo's flute to them adding, "Keep this away from Aladdin." Holding the flute would hopefully give him something to focus on. "He was pouring all of his magoi into that empty vessel -basically killing himself."

Luckily Aladdin's breathing had returned immediately. I pushed up the sleeves of my oversized hoodie, and adjusted his posture to help his breathing and checked his pulse.

The crowd watched while I checked Aladdin's condition. His pulse and breathing were both uneven, and I felt a weird sensation like I could tell he was drained of energy -like a nearly empty well. I knew the future though so I wasn't too worried.

"He's unstable but holding together," I said. Alibaba and Morgiana were still in shock at seeing their friend like this. "He will live, and wake up when he's ready in a few days. I promise."

"Thank you." Both teens said with shaky voices.

Then I looked up at the crowd, "Can someone get a stretcher or something so he can be moved safely?"

Gold eyes were watching me with an unreadable expression.

How could I forget that Sinbad and Ja'far were in this scene?? Sinbad was the one who originally yelled to remove the flute from Aladdin's hand. There was a look of recognition in Sinbad's eyes as our eyes met, and I felt that strange current again. My stomach went cold. He might be my favorite character, but I also knew all of the horrible things he has done and will some day out do. And I knew I'd probably struggle to keep composure around him.

All the same I felt a pull towards him that I couldn't deny. I tried to play it off, and turned back to focusing on Aladdin.

A guy left and returned with the stretcher, so Aladdin was moved safely.

I hung back as the main cast followed the stretcher to wherever Aladdin was going to be staying until he obtained Solomon's Wisdom. The more space between Sinbad and me, the better.

I needed to decide where I was going next. I tried to change the dream. I didn't want to live through the revolt in Balbadd nor have to deal with Sinbad or my feelings. Still nothing. I could still feel that current strongly, so I couldn't be awake. And yet it seemed the only thing I had an affect on was myself.

A few people were watching me. I was wearing an over sized zipper down hoodie that was just long enough to hide my short-shorts -not to mention my flip-flops and glasses. I didn't exactly fit in. Even I thought it was weird though; in dreams I'm normally in a t-shirt and jeans or at least have my legs covered.

Thin fingers pulled my sleeve to get my attention. "Please come with us." Morgiana stared at me. I could tell she wasn't just asking me to come, she wanted me to help look after Aladdin since I knew what was wrong with him.

She was only slightly shorter than me. She'd get taller in a few years.

I sighed. I couldn't bring myself to say no -especially not when the others also seemed to be waiting for me.

After securing Aladdin a private room, Ja'far confirmed his condition.

"How did this happen?" Alibaba panicked over his friend. "This is so much worse than in the dungeon!"

"He used too much magoi." Sinbad and I said in unison. We glanced at each other, and I gestured for him to do the honors, inwardly cursing my tongue. I knew he was going to explain but I couldn't stop myself from answering anyway when I saw Alibaba's worry in person. I identify with aspects of Sinabd for a reason.

The violet haired king explained how even though Aladdin was a Magi, he was too weak to call upon the unlimited magoi of the surrounding Rukh so could only call upon his own.  Even a Magi can die if he loses too much magoi.

During his explanation, Sinbad had watched me out of the corner of his eye. No doubt he was looking for my reaction to the boy being a Magi. I couldn't find it in me to act surprised given the circumstances even though the last thing I needed was for him to pay attention to me.

I took note of his unnecessary lingering on my chest and bare legs though. Sinbad will always be Sinbad after all.

I decided to add information. "The Djinn isn't even in the metal vessel anymore., so his efforts were wasted."

"How can you tell?" Sinbad asked. I couldn't tell if it was genuine curiosity or a test.

I pointed to Ugo's flute in his hands, "The most obvious sign is that the star isn't on the metal vessel anymore." It was something Sinbad was going to take notice of anyway. "Besides, it wasn't Aladdin's magoi fueling Ugo, so when the magoi ran out during the fight there was nothing left keeping Ugo here."

Alibaba and Morgiana were too worried about their friend to notice the name drops, but the King and his aid caught them.

"Regardless, Aladdin needs rest."

We all left the room. Alibaba and Morgiana went to tend to more of the injured. Sinbad and Jafar were supposed to meet up with Masuru and help manage the situation, but instead pulled me aside to a different private room. It was the one with the small table they used after joining the fog troop. Sinbad sat on one side and gestured for me to sit across from him. Ja'far stood behind him.

"Now then, who are you? You're clearly not from around here." Sinbad's nonthreatening smile didn't actually put me at ease. "I could have assumed that you heard Alibaba call Aladdin's and Ugo's names earlier, but you didn't blink at hearing Aladdin's a Magi and now you even know why his attempt to save his friend didn't work. You don't seem to be a magician or a dungeon capturer." He smiled, but he was gauging how much of a threat I was. "Hmm?"

I couldn't blame him for being suspicious of me; I appeared out of nowhere, dressed like no one in this world had ever seen, and knew way more than average. He may have even thought I was a member of Al Thamen. I had to swallow my nerves if I was going to get through this. I tried to think of it like a business meeting, so at least I'd be half put together.

I shrugged, "I doubt you'd believe me even if I told you, King Sinbad." No way he'd believe I was dreaming. I purposefully said his name and title to make it clear that I knew who he was even though he hadn't introduced himself yet. I tried not to, but the longer I looked at him the more nervous I got, and even though he was the Sinbad that I had fixated on and found so comforting he still gave off a slightly dangerous air. I felt a light blush coming on.

"You'd be surprised how much we know. Why don't you try anyway?" Of course Sinbad wouldn't be deterred.

I sighed. "Then would you believe that I actually read this world's fate many times. And I mean more than feeling it's waves. I know exactly what's going to happen next."

"What?” the room seemed to gasp with them. They had been through many adventures and seen many unbelievable things, but never had they met someone who could read fate. The way Sinbad tensed when I mentioned the waves gave me a good feeling -almost like I actually had some level of control.

Part of me regretted saying it of course. However, I thought it would be safer to tell the truth than to lie and reveal it later. Besides, there was no believable answer I could give.

"What type of fools do you take us for?!" Ja'far yelled at me.

Sinbad put a hand between us, quieting Ja'far. "Can you prove that?"

I thought for a moment and looked between them. "If I can 'predict' events that will happen during the next 24 hours, would that be proof enough?"

Sinbad's gaze was piercing, but I knew I wasn't lying and returned it. His eyes were like molten gold with all of his focus. It was the longest I had looked at him directly since I arrived in the world. He was much prettier in person -too beautiful. If he didn't say something soon, I was going to start studying him and get distracted. He had glanced at my legs and chest a few times already, and I was ready to return the favor -even if I'd appear weak to him in the process. Seeing him without his metal vessels was a rare sight after all. He was a good art reference when fully gilded, but it was much easier to see his form when there was just clothes covering it. He almost looked soft; he definitely look about 10,000% more touchable when not covered in a thick layer of gold, silver, and jewels.

"Fine." Sinbad's words shook me from my thoughts. "What is going to happen next?" His smile widened. His sudden charming act must have meant he noticed me ogling him a bit, but I wasn't about to drop my guard for a gorgeous face even if I was blushing.

I answered, "Tonight, the person who has been leaking information to the fog troop will reveal himself -no, I won't say who 'cause it's more fun that way, but let's just say he normally stands behind the king of this country- and he will let everyone know that said king plans to sell his citizens as slaves to pay off his debt to the Kou Empire in order to keep his luxurious life style."

This garnered an even louder, "WHAT???"

I ignored them and carried on with my recounting of the story. "Alibaba will struggle with the stress from being asked to fix things by Morgiana and the informant due to his inexperience. You will step up again, and in turn become more disappointed in Alibaba's abilities than you've done already. Then while drunk tomorrow morning you will voice your disappointment only to be over heard by Morgiana, who will tell you of a past accomplishment of Alibaba's that will make you realize you judged him too quickly. Jafar will call you out as being a drunk idiot-"

"HOLD on a second! You seriously think he would sell his own citizens?" Sinbad's had to be remembering King Rashid and not wanting to believe his son would destroy his legacy that badly. Things were worse than he thought, but it explained many of the problems he was seeing in Balbadd.

I figured he probably only had such an animated response unlike in the original because of how I said it -like the outsider I am, without emotion.

I put my hands in my hoodie pockets. "Soon enough, you will be able to ask the leak yourself."

"Hmm." Sinbad seemed to think he'd find answers somewhere on my form if he looked at the right spot or he was just checking me out openly. His eyes were piercing as he said, "That's still a very serious accusation. What will you do if it turns out you're wrong?"

I sighed and looked away. "Probably the same thing I'll do if it turns out I'm right: try to use what I know to help people and survive another day." If I was going to be dreaming this seriously about any series, I was going to do my best to help, even if I end up changing the plot in the end. I've never been the type to stay still.

"It will be interesting to see what happens." Sinbad seemed to accept my words. "I do have another question."

"Oh?"

"What's your name?"

Ah that. I had been hoping he wouldn't ask. "Call me whatever you want." I really didn't want to hear him say my name.

"Then," the smoldering look he turned on me was too much, "how does 'Beautiful' sounds?"

My face became red as the setting sun as it crashed into my hands. I couldn't tell if I was more embarrassed to be called such a thing or if it was second hand embarrassment for Ja'far having to put up with such a man.

"Whatever! Fine! I don't know why I was expecting anything different from the womanizer of the seven seas, but here we are!"

Ja'far looked at me with pity as Sinbad chuckled at my reaction.

I continued spewing embarrassed nonsense, and left before he could try to to get anything more from me.

I can only assume that the two would go to do whatever they originally would have during this part of the story.

This was becoming the most realistic dream I'd ever had. I'd had dreams before with smell, touch, pain, etc, but this one had no time skips, and I felt hunger. In some of my past dreams when I got tired it was actually a sign that I was about to wake up, but it felt different here. It felt more real.

I couldn't take it. I either needed food or sleep or both, and I had no money to get either.

It was a bit sneaky, but I went back to the room Aladdin was resting in. Alibaba would spend some time there later that night after getting asked to save the country. He wasn't there when I arrived, so I was pretty sure Sahmad hadn't revealed himself as the informant yet.

Aladdin was doing as expected. I was a bit disappointed that I wouldn't get to actually meet him before I woke up. He was a good boy -a perv, but still good.

One of the corners of the room had a gap in the supplies so I sat down in it. Some poles would block view of me from the door and most of the rest of the room. I pulled my hood up, my hoodie over my knees, and laid my head on my knees. Hopefully, when I'd wake up I wouldn't have to do laundry.

Honestly, I didn't want to wake up. The air was dry so my throat hurt, my back hurt from sleeping in a bad position, and I was really hungry. It would be easier to just sleep a little longer until my hunger subsided so I could move to actually get food.

My stomach growled at me for not taking better care of myself, and I groaned back in frustration. 'I really should get up and feed the cats at least...'

"H-how- How long has that thing been there??"

I blinked my eyes open and looked up at the source of the voice. With my hood no longer protecting me, the sunlight from the window assaulted my eyes. I jerked my head back down with a squeak, "Too bright."

The voice was Alibaba. There were others with him, but I didn't get a good look. How was I still dreaming?

I think I heard someone say, "so this is where she was hiding," under their breath but I could have been hearing things.

Gentle steps made their way towards me and stopped about a yard away. "You're the one who helped Aladdin before, right?"

I lifted my head up slowly that time. I tried to look Morgiana in the eye while adjusting my crooked glasses. "Yeah. That was me," I mumbled.

She was crouched in front of me. "Can you look at him again please?" Her eyes pleaded with me.

"You said he'd wake up in a few days. How long will he need??" Alibaba joined her on the floor making me jolt.

This was not my idea of a good wake up call.

"Calm~ down~" I said through a yawn as I stretched my legs out then stood up.

I walked past them both and up to the sleeping Magi. My too long sleeves covered my hands and I couldn't be bothered to fix them as I yawned into the fabric again.

The two got up and watched me. There was definitely someone else in the room but I couldn't see them past my hood, and I was still too sleepy to care.

Aladdin was sleeping like he would be for a while. What was I supposed to see? "I don't remember exactly how long. He won't wake up until after his Rukh goes and visits Ugo."

A cluster of voices shouted "What?" and "How?" with varying levels of detail.

"Oh right.. That was a secret, wasn't it? Forget I said that." I really should have waited until I was more awake to say anything.

Not looking at any of them, I closed my eyes and moaned. "I just woke up. And now I'm achy from being in that position for so long." I flapped my sleeves in frustration and in an attempt to wake up more. I opened my eyes again, still looking down at Aladdin. "As long as you take care of his body, he'll be fine."

And then my stomach growled again spoiling the moment. My left hand pressed into my stomach. I really felt that one. "Can I impose on you guys for food? I don't have any." I was glad my hood was up. I could feel my eyes getting watery. When I was young I got hangry, but as I got older I started becoming sadgry instead.

There was a light clapping sound and a jovial voice answered me, "Food is not a problem, Ms. Prophet! Just come with me and we'll get you fed."

I turned to the source and saw Ja'far giving me his best professional smile.

Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden - Cha Cha

Well, that was definitely a lot better than I thought and for week one, it was out of this world. The cha cha is such a hard dance but Tom definitely delivered as well as anyone could hope. Of course, he has amazing musicality but from the very off, he had those hips moving like there was no tomorrow and he had some great footwork with those retractions and straight legs. My only issue was his arms sometimes looked awkward but it’s to be expected from someone who always has a guitar in his arms. I also loved the dad dancing we saw, and I can’t wait to see what he brings next week.

Tilly Ramsey and Nikita - Waltz

Bless her! For someone so young, Tilly really made her mark in the competition with a romantic af waltz. Before I compliment her, the only issue was there was no heel leads like this dance needs. Yet, it was full of content with basic steps, a fleckle here and there but more importantly, there was a beautiful story and it seemed so elegant. Also, considering how old she is, there were moments where her top line was impeccable and it was a shame she couldn’t keep it throughout.

Ugo and Oti - Samba

Can we confirm that this man is a sportsman because I have never seen an athlete let go in a samba like this so early. The samba is one of the hardest dances in the competition and he definitely didn’t struggle like I expected. Although he wasn’t as fluid as when Danny did it (which is obviously the standard), he had so much fun and just exuded positivity. Those hips couldn’t get enough and I just wish he let go even more. Hopefully, as the weeks go on, he grows in confidence and we see his full potential.

Rhys and Nancy - Viennese Waltz

I had high expectations from Rhys after last weeks opener and he didn’t disappoint! Although he seemed like a latin boy, he even smashed the ballroom, especially considering how hard the Viennese waltz is. Although his fleckles weren’t the best, he had great potential with his frame, even though it sometimes fell. For me, he had great swing and sway with musicality that just oozed charisma and told a great story. I am definitely going to keep my eyes on him.
